Beautiful fast growing tree, regularly formed. Conical to begin with, the peak will be rounded and the branches coloured orangey-red in winter. Creamy-white and perfumed flowers appear in June-July, with long greeny-white bracts (leaves imitating petals), followed by little berries. The large heart-shaped leaves will turn yellow in autumn, and give a good amount of shade. Easy to grow and with a long life, tolerating any soil, not too dry, even chalky, and in a sunny exposure.
