Paulownia belongs to the Paulowniaceae family. Of rapid growth, its flower buds appear in autumn at the end of the current year’s shoots, the flowers in 8 to 10cm long tubular corollaries held in conical panicles, opening in April-May. The fortune species is particularly interesting for its pyramidal form and its spectacular early flowering. Paulownia grows in ordinary soil, and prefers a sunny position. Suitable for growing as a specimen in a park, or in formation.
