Passiflora, or Passion flower, belongs to the Passifloraceae family. This genus of climbing plants comprises numerous species and varieties with original and striking flowers. Caerulea in particular, winds its green tendril-bearing shoots around a support. Rapid-growing, itgrows in fertile soil, in a sunny and protected situation. From June to October solitary and gently-fragranced flowers appear, to sometimes give way to orange fruits the size of a pigeon’s egg. Passiflora can be used to cover walls, trellises, pergolas and archways.
