Skimmia belongs to the Rutaceae family and is often considered to be an acid-loving plant. Hardy, with shiny green evergreen foliage, and small white-pink or dark pink fragrant flowers borne in upright bunches in March-April. It’s highly decorative bright red fruits succeed its flowers from September to March on its female subjects. Skimmia is an excellent container plant but also in rockeries and beds of acid-loving plants.
