Ligustrum belongs to the Oleaceae family. It consists of a group of shrubs with decorative foliage and melliferous flowers. Its evergreen or long lasting foliage, most often dark green, is covered in terminal bunches of creamy-white flowers from June to August, according to the variety. Suited to all soil types, and tolerant of alkaline soils. It is mainly grown in hedges, formal or informal, and can also be grown in containers.
