Caryopteris is a shrub from the Lamiaceae family. Its vegetation appears to be like that of a perennial plant and its dark blue nectar-producing flowers appear from July to October according to variety. Caryopteris is ideal for container-growing but can also be grown as a specimen or in a group in a lawn or against a wall. Numerous selections are available today which feature decorative leaves and extended flowering. Minier introduced Caryopteris x clandonensis ‘Heavenly Blue’ into France in 1966.
