Chaenomeles or Japanese quince is a member of the Rosaceae family. This genus is composed of a large range of spring-flowering shrubs. Its vegetation can be either shrub like or prostrate, cing melliferous flowers ranging from white to red, from February to May. The flowers are distinctively grouped in 2s or 4s on each branch, and its small round fragrant fruits which follow, make it a very cherished shrub. In 2015, Minier created and presented the Chaenomeles x Mango Storm ®, spine-free and with very large semi-double orange flowers.
