Vitex or Chaste Tree belongs to the Lamiaceae family. It’s a highly melliferous plant which grows freely in the South of France. Its tufted vegetation gives off an aromatic scent when the leaves are rubbed. Its white or violet-blue flowers are borne in a terminal spike, appearing in August-September. It grows in ordinary tending to dry soil. It can be grown as a specimen, in groups, in planting schemes with other shrubs or as part of a flowering hedge.
