Yellow and firm flesh, sweet and perfumed. Synonym : Lauermann (DE). Already cultivated by the Baron Von Truchess in 1791, given by Mr. Baars, an arborist from Herrenhausen, near Hanover. Named 'Napoleon' by Parmentier, a french arborist from Enghein in around 1820, then named 'Wellington' in retaliation, by the English. Ideal formed on stem being of modest size with horizontal branches. Good for jams.
