Vigorous plant with suckers (spreading thanks to them). Light green culm, yellow in the sun. Typical nodes stacked and compressed at the base of some culms. The foliage occurs from the base of the plant. The tight culms form a nice and continuous green screen. Hardy plant that is easy to grow and tolerates dry conditions. The foliage is damaged in case of cold and dry wind below -12°C. It can grow over 6 m tall. Japanese names: Gasan chiku, Hotei chiku (Bamboo from the fairy kingdom).
