Low and widely spread plant, ideal as a ground cover. Elongated and oval foliage of 1,5 to 3 cm long. It is 6 to 12mm large and has a shiny dark green colour on the upper side and a light green uderside. The foliage is persistent in winter. In May, it produces a few small and perfumed creamy white inconspicuous flowers gathered in pairs. In September-October, it can produce shiny and translucent amethyst blue fruits of 6 to 8 mm diameter.
