Read detailed description :

Fast-growing and very hardy plant with a spreading growth habit. Large deep purple flowers in April-May. The calyx that bears flowers, has the same colour as the corolla which gives the impression that two flowers are nested in one another. Hybrid between Rhododendron yedoense var. poukanense and 'Hexe'.
