Nice and vigorous garden plant. Beautiful reddish-brown-orange autumn colouring. Beautiful white flowering in April coming from pink white buds. Purple-black edible fruits in August-September. Melliferous plant. The flowered branches last long in vase. It can grow over 6m tall when not pruned at maturity. Any type of soils. Slightly tolerates calcareous and moist conditions. Jean Baptiste Chevalier de Lamarck (1744-1829), was a famous naturalist, great classifier and creator of his own theory of evolution.
