Very vigorous and hardy tree, with lateral branches dropping slightly, giving a semi-weeping appearance. Finely cut leaves, turning golden yellow in autumn. Small light yellow flowering in March before the leaves. Robust and hardy plant, resistant to pollution and chalky soils. Synonyms: 'Wagneri'; 'Asplenifolium'. Bred by Wier (GB), introduced and named by Ellwanger & Barry (US) in 1875.
