Hydrangea belongs to the Hydrangeaceae family. Leaving aside Hydrangea macrophylla, commonly known as Hortensia, the genus Hydrangea includes the species serrata, arborescens, paniculata, aspera, quercifolia, villosa and climbing forms. The shrub type Hortensia includes an equally disparate collection of species regarding vegetation, form and colours, which can easily be associated in planting schemes.
