The leaves, a superb yellow colour, are delicate, finely cut and very graphic. Brings depth and a lovely aspect to plant arrangements. The leaves are bronze tinted on shoots in early spring, becoming an intense golden colour later in spring and in autumn. In summer, and in half-shade, they become a green tinted yellow. This well ramified and vigorous plant bends elegantly to the sides, even though the ends of branches stay erect. It can be left to grow naturally or pruned to maintain a low shrub. Umbels of white flowers appear early, in March-April, before leaves. Rustic and easy to grow, ideal in flowerbeds and hedges. Plant in a fresh, non-chalky soil. Relatively resistant to full sun. Crossbreed of the Sambucus nigra and racemosa (Sambucus x strumpfii).
