Small, compact, round, dense and well branched shrub. Hardy, robust and very floriferous plant, covered with flowers in March-April, The young shoots and the flower buds are hairy. Pure white star-shaped flowers of 10 to 12 cm diameter, divided into 12 to 15 narrow tepals of 4 to 5 cm large. Light green foliage with brown young shoots turning golden yellow in autumn. Synonym: kobus var. stellata. Appreciates drained soil.
